Working RVers Share: Frank and Stacy
(Full-time RVer Frank Gives Us An Update and an Invitation)
Stacy and I have spent the summer season, since late spring, in the PA Amish country, and loved it. Stacy was appointed to manage an encore/ Thousand Trails Park, "Outdoor World PA Dutch CG", in Manheim, PA.
I went along as her helper and consultant since my health reversal in Dec. 2010 has not improved as quickly as I had hoped. I am making good progress now being under the great care of the local V. A. hospital and Lebanon Cardiology Associates.
Our summer season seemed to be busy and quite successful, considering it was Stacy's first year managing here. With a little Internet advertising and blogging, the three holiday weekends were extremely busy, and most importantly memorable and fun for our guests.
We were short handed thru out the season since our arrival was in late March and we didn't have time to adequately recruit workers. However, our small and experienced staff admirably "stepped up to the plate" and "hit the ball outta the park"!
We have begun our recruiting for next season in the hopes of having work campers in place two weeks before our April 1 opening date.
We are in process now of winding down our season, officially Oct. 27, 2013, then heading south within two weeks after that.
This winter, we plan to be in SW Florida and the Keys come January, since Stacy's son, a Key West police officer, will be having her first grandchild in January.
We have invited you in the past to stop by and say hi during your travels when we managed parks in TX. We offer you the same if you happen to pass thru PA this year. We are 1/4 mile north of exit 266 on the PA Turnpike. In the meantime, stay well and safe travels. The invite is also open to Thousand Trails members or RV'ers who would like to become members.

Thank you for the update, Frank. It is always good to hear what you and Stacy are doing. I know Stacy is the one with the campground management and recreation degree, but I'm sure you give her lots of help. Have fun with that new grand baby this winter!Go to the Workers On Wheels Announcements Page.
