My travels through life started by working through highschool and participating in three sports. After working my way through college I already had experience in truck driving, gas stations, bar tending, hospital staff, telephone operator, kitchen and table server, office staff and general sales. In the fall of 1980 my wife and I decided to move ourselves and our two young daughters to Austin Texas. We wanted a more favorable climate, both in the weather and a better economy. In Austin I went to work for the largest home builder in the area. After starting as a salesman, I was, within six months, the regional sales manager. By 1982 I entered the residential mortgage business. I would remain involved in this business until the present time in some fashion or another. I have managed four companies, owned two companies and I have been a wholesale representative for one. During the last twenty seven years, along with the mortgage business, I have been an investment advisor, life insurance salesman, president of a title company and founder, contractor of a dealer to dealer auto auction, sales manager of a auto auction , author, sales trainer, motivational speaker, and real-estate coach. During all of this I have immigrated to Australia, lived in Michigan, California, Colorado, and Texas. I have traveled Europe on a motorcycle and by car. I have owned an RV for many years, so I have seen much of the U.S. .I am ready for a new page in my life which should include many new friends and lots of new horizons. I create positive environments wherever I find myself. I have no idea what my next adventure is going to be, but I am looking forward to a challenge. I have an RV, a great attitude, a happy dog companion and a wiliness’ to go anywhere if it’s good for all concerned. Just because I have spent a lot of time at a desk doesn’t mean that is what I am willing to do. I have emptied a lot of garbage in my career and cleaned up a lot of yards. I will be happy out of doors as long I can be around positive folks. If you feel like I might be an asset to your company, please follow up and I would gladly provide as many references as you would like. They will tell you that I don’t smoke, use any drugs (even scripts), but I do drink cold beer while watching my favorite college football team. They will also tell you I used to own an airplane which I used to fly to golf courses. I’ve also jumped out of them, much to their dismay. They will tell you I can fish,hunt, snow ski, water ski, snow mobile, and hike. They know I don’t like TV much, but I do like to read. Respectively, Yours Robert L.
