Work Wanted Resume: Rob & Karen Mars

Hello, we are the Mars, Rob & Karen. We are a couple married for 48 years. We were lucky to have and raise, three children and now have 5 grandchildren. We have been full time rv’ers for 10 years. We are both non smokers and, travel in a 2004 Prairie Schooner fifth wheel pulled by a 2001 Ford 350 Dually. We have no pets.

I (Rob) retired from Ameritech (formally Indiana Bell Telephone) in 1992 with 30 years service. My position was upper management in Operations Network. I soon found I wasn’t ready for the “easy life” just yet and went back to work for an independent phone company as a Project Manager until 1998. I consider myself to have a great work ethic and am very self disciplined and dependable but, I also am very much a team player. I will do what is required for the best job possible. Karen worked for almost 20 years in the auto related industry. Many of those years her position was as a Title Clerk in retail, as well as, several years as Title Clerk at a Wholesale Auto Auction. She also sold real estate for 5 years before retiring along with me (the final time) in 1998. Karen has maintained her computer skills throughout retirement and is also dependable with a strong work ethic. She is used to working with the public and has great people skills. We both have several hobbies that keep us busy but, after several years of travel and just enjoying this great country we have discovered we can have the best of both worlds through workamping. We are reliable,hard workers & always willing to learn something new. From April/06 thru Oct 06 we were first time Camp Hosts inCortez, Colorado. We were two in a team of six hosts. General duties for Karen included taking reservations, registration, sorting mail, activities. She did all reservations/registration by computer and has experience with CAMPGROUND MASTER. My duties included general maintenance, general electric, plumbing, winterizing of sites and mowing.

For the last 4 summer seasons we have managed a small but busy campground in So Indiana,. We were on our own in this park with an alternate host relieving us 2-3 days a week. During our time here the park was full several times a season due to rv rallys, conventions & special events (in the area) We both handled scheduling, reservations, check-in, parking plus, any problems that might arise in the park. I took care of most of the minor repairs with plumbing, electric, landscaping,grass cutting, general cleaning & repair of sites.

Our commitment here will end in Dec but we would like to take a couple months off for R&R and will be available and eager to go back to work by March or April 2011. We are both excited to get back on the road to a new location and, secure a new position with an employer looking for a couple that are quick learners, dependable, hard working & will stick with their commitment. Although we know not every job that comes along is for us we, will at least, consider any offer.
