Qualifications
10/2006 - 08/2008 Self-Employed/Volunteer, Non Profit Work Artist and Piece Maker-Ebay Dog Rescue Groups (various)
*Have taken the last 2 + years off from a regular job so that my time and energy could be focused on helping animals in need. I rescue rottweilers, pit bulls, and pit mixes from abusive homes and dog fighting rings, rehabilitate them to the best of my ability and find them loving "forever homes". I still do this with a group of like-minded people. I have been living on savings as well as any money earned from selling my art on Ebay. It's been a wonderful experience and while I'm a little sad to let it go, I'm also excited to get back in the swing and stability of a "real job", learning new skills and working with nice, friendly co-workers..

06/2004 - 08/2006 Gershwin Hotel & Apartments Hollywood, Ca.
Apartment/Hotel/Hostel Manager (I lived on-site as part of the requirement was to be available 24/7)
*Responsibilities included but not limited to: Taking /canceling reservations, collecting rents (rent of both residential AND commercial, I managed 2 whole city blocks basically), handling of cash, credit card verification, making sure property taxes, gas, water, electric, etc were ALL paid on time and general clerical duties such as employee work verification, coordinating office events, maintaining office supplies, payroll distribution, generating efficiency reports, phone correspondence, updating client profiles, troubleshooting, internet customer service, assisting the complex owner's personal correspondence and affairs, etc. Since I'm also accustomed to living in places that have often been "fixer-uppers" I even come with my own fully-equipped tool box for duties such as changing locks, snaking/unclogging drains due to 90 year old plumbing, installing ceiling fans and light fixtures, caulking bath tubs and sinks, laying down new carpet and/or laminate flooring. I am also an EXPERT painter which I did a LOT of since every time someone moved out of a unit, it needed to be patched, sanded, or painted. Sometimes even having to go as far as putting up new drywall. All of these things weren't part of my original responsibilities when I was hired but I was soon known around our little community as being the "go-to gal" for these types of duties. This not only helped my employer since they didn't have to have me hire a new "handy man" but also helped me as I was paid more and I ALWAYS had something to do, which I love!

04/2000 - 04/2004 Expose Communications Inc. Van Nuys, Ca.
Office Assistant/Customer Service Representative
* Managed office relations while assisting the President.
*Responsibilities included but not limited to: Employee work verification, all staff scheduling, coordinating office events, maintaining office supplies, payroll distribution, generating efficiency reports, phone correspondence, updating client profiles, troubleshooting, internet customer service, assist President’s personal correspondence and affairs, and general clerical duties.
* Developed and implemented tracking procedures for office database.

05-1998 - 01/2000 The Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument
Tour guide
* Met members of a tour on arrival and made introductions
* Coordinated pre-arranged accommodation and transport, and made sure that tour members were comfortable. Lead tour groups, advised tour members of local interest points and prepared and presented tour commentaries. Coordinated pre-arranged tour activities such as visits to local attractions, restaurants or shops, train rides, cruises, extended tours, etc. Attended to operational problems such as booking errors and amendments, lost luggage or illness, and provided first aid if needed. Kept in close contact with transportation companies. Maintained written reports of daily activities and carried out other administrative work.

Aside from working for other companies, I have been successfully self-employed in my spare time with my own EBAY business for the past 6 years as well as my own part-time dog walking business.

Knowledge in and have worked with:
Outlook, Quickbooks, Excel, MS Word, Adobe Photoshop, can type up to 50 to 60 WPM, great at 10 key by touch and extremely internet savvy. I have been working with computers since 1998 and do well with any programs that I've needed to learn for any of my jobs. I have also taught myself HTML and have built websites for myself and for friends over the years. I have to say (hopefully without sounding conceited!) that I excel at this now! :) I'm also a self-taught digital photographer.
