Working RVers Joe and Marcy
Hello! Thank you for taking time to view our application. We are Joe and Marcy Brown and we have have been fulltimers since the fall of 2005 and workkampers since March of 2006. Our rig is a 2006 Montana Fifth Wheel, towed by a 2002 Ford F-250, with a little Jeep Cherokee bringing up the rear! We are currently looking for a part-time winter position from January through March, 2011.
We have workamped in Colorado, Texas, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, and Missouri. In our first workamping experience in Colorado, I had the opportunity to install Campground Master Software and take the park from a manual system to a computerized one! In 2009, I again set up Campground Master Software, long distance this time, for a friend who had purchased another RV park. I also enjoy initiating activities for the guests including a 'meet and greets,' ice cream socials, pot lucks, etc.
My duties have always been in the office, taking reservations, registering guests, and providing customer service. I have experience with ROS 2000 (now Tripsetter), Campground Manager, Campground Master, and this season have had the opportunity to learn KOA Kampsight. I have 30+ years computer experience and am also proficient in Word, WordPerfect, Excel and Quickbooks. At Crown Villa RV Park in Bend, Oregon I produced a bi-weekly calendar of activities and newletter for the guests using Microsoft Publisher. I truly enjoy planning and coordinating events, getting to know the guests, and making sure that they enjoy their stay.
Joe's duties as a workamper are varied. Up until this season his duties have always been escorting guests, groundskeeping, general maintenance, and special construction projects. This season at KOA, however, Joe has been trained on the KOA Kampsight software and has worked in the office, taking reservations, checking in guests, selling merchandise, and working in the cafe. Outside normal workamper duties, Joe had the opportunity in Colorado to work with a licensed outfitter, setting up mountain hunting camps. Joe also has a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certificate from Montana.
Prior to our travels, Joe was a Manager in Support Services for 23 years with Indiana Bell (now AT&T). In that position, he was responsible for building and grounds maintenance for 45+ buildings in the Southern Indiana region. After taking advantage of a company-wide early retirement offer in 1991, Joe chose to work at jobs related to his hobbies of golf and general aviation. His last full time position prior to traveling was 5 seasons with the grounds crew at Valley View Golf Club.
My professional career has been administrative and legal support. During my 16 year banking career, I also obtained a paralegal diploma, as well as a B.S. Degree in Business (Major: Accounting) from Indiana University. Subsequently, I worked for 12 year as a legal secretary and litigation paralegal for a prestigious Louisville law firm.
Joe and I are having a great time exploring this country, meeting new people, and experiencing new adventures. As RVers, we enjoy meeting and working with RVers. We are ethical, hard working, professional team players and take pride in our work. We will be happy to provide you with references, upon request. We hope that you will consider us to be a part of your team. Thank you!
