CAMP HOSTING
Our current hosting job is at Prince William Forest Park, in Triangle, Virginia. Feel free to contact our boss, Brian MacIntosh, at 540-370-0978, 571-299-9544, or 571-247-7827. Our duties here include, but are not limited to, checking groups in and out of the cabin camping facilities, overall cleaning of the dorms, cabins, kitchen/dining area, bath-houses, keeping the grounds picked up and neat and clean, completing appropriate paperwork on a monthly basis, and overall insuring that the park's rules and regulations are followed as they should be, etc.
We spent the summer of 2010 at Montebello Fishing and Camping Resort, in Montebello, Virginia, from April of 2010, to November 6, 2010. The season ended officially on October 31, 2010. Our responsibilities there were camp hosting- of course, varying hours of between 8-12 hours or so per week in exchange for our full hook up site. In addition, I worked at the country store here, as a clerk, taking care of store customers, answering the phone, taking reservations, putting away merchandise as needed, and so on. My husband Jim was additionally responsible for maintenance in the campground and on campground and store property.
Feel free to call our former manager, Christy Grant, at 540-377-2650 for both personal and work references. She is the store manager, and if she is not available, please ask the person that answers the phone to have her return your call at a time convenient for you.
My husband and I have lived in a camper for quite some time before, due to his employment as an overhead crane installer; I have traveled with him extensively and this was the simplest, easiest way to live while he was out of town on various jobs; as well as tent camping, and RV camping as often as we could. This position is exactly the kind of thing we have been searching for and hoping to get for a long time now. He has been laid off since March 2, 2009, and this is what we hope to get into permanently. My husband was approved recently for social security disability, due to him having peripheral artery disease. This does not affect his ability to do anything in anyway, other than walking for long distances without having to stop and rest, so please do not let that influence your decision in any way. We currently own a 1986 Winnebago motorhome in extremely good condition, it has been well cared for both on the inside and out. It’s appearance is more than satisfactory for any camp host site. However, it is a possibility, in the future, that we may upgrade to a somewhat larger RV. If this is the case, and you have allowed us to take this position, we will be sure to notify you of what we plan to get, etc.
We are generally in good health, overall. The downside: Jim had a stroke in October 2010. He lost a lot of the use of his left arm and left leg, but with a lot of hard work, and a lot of prayers, he is gradually regaining use of both the arm and leg, and hopes to be back up to snuff by spring. He is able to get around, walk, etc.; however, it does take him longer than it used to. He is also a diabetic, and has periphreal artery disease. His diabetes is under good control, and has been for years. The P.A.D. slows down his walking (even before his stroke) but otherwise has not affected him. He is a hard worker, and a fantastic person!

NANCY'S MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION:
I have been studying since October of 2009 through Ashworth College online in the medical transcription field. My grades have consistently been high, my transcript will be available upon request. I finished this course on December 18, 2010. My grades and diploma will be available upon request. I am actively seeking employment from home in this field. I plan to take on medical billing and coding as well. Combined with my extensive history of researching, typing, and a multitude of other accomplished computer skills, I am sure I would be an asset to your organization.
Nancy's Work History:
Tenneco Gas Station, Laplace Louisiana. Long since out of business. I worked there for about a year around 1984, or 1985.
We moved to Indiana in 1986, due to lack of work in southern Louisiana. About 1987, I started working at a nursing home in Bluffton Indiana called Cooper Community Care. They also have been out of business for years. This is where I got my CNA license. (CNA stands for Certified Nursing Assistant). I stayed there for about 7 months.
From there, I went on to United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, Indiana. I worked there, various shifts, for about 7 years I believe. They are still in business, I don’t know how far back their work records go, etc- but their number is 260-375-2201. Web link is http://www.ummh.org/
I left there and tried various staffing agencies for CNA work. I worked for several different agencies, I honestly can’t recall all of them, but one of them was Res-Care, another was Nurse's Housecall, out of Fort Wayne, Indiana. I can find out what the others were if you need the exact names.
In the late 1990’s, I left the CNA industry and started working for McDonald’s in Warren, Indiana. I remained there for about 2 years.
I also worked a few months at Hills department store in Marion, Indiana, in the shoe department. They have also closed down long ago. During that time, around 2000, to about 2002, I also worked at an Arby’s in Marion, Indiana.
Around 2004, I bought a building in Willshire Ohio and started my own antique shop. I ran this for about 3 years.
Throughout most of this time, from about 1995 on, I have been an active genealogy writer, (working on a multi-volume book series), and also now currently am a true crime advocate and awareness blogger, as well as studying part time to be a medical transcriptionist in a work from home position, for which I will receive a certificate upon completion that will help me obtain a part time, work from home job later on.
I am very computer savvy, having been working on the computer in general, as well as the internet, since the 1990’s. I have taught myself everything I know, and I continue to explore and learn more everyday about using computers, in some cases repairing them (!), and on using the internet.
