Work Wanted Resume: Irene and Joe Tangye

by Irene & Joe Tangye
(Arizona )

Full Timers Seeking New Discoveries Thanks for taking a moment to look at our resume and "see" who we are..... IRENE & JOE TANGYE - ages 52 & 56 Our names are Irene and Joe Tangye. We are seeking a Workamping position - either for site and utilities or site and wages for this Winter.

Joe - escorting guests, propane, light maintenance, mowing, working in diner/food area, or using one of his skills (see below). Irene in reservations, phones, cleaning or in diner/food area - or any other customer contact position. Neither one of us minds giving a hand cleaning or wherever else we might be needed. Both of us take great pride in our work at all times. Open to new jobs, experiences....

BACKGROUND:

Homeowners for years - we are both aware of upkeep, maintenance and hard work. We enjoy helping out however we can or wherever we work. Responsability, integrity, honesty and reliability are great assets that we feel we both possess. We are also very self-disciplined. Friendly and reliable....

Prior to going full time, we lived in FL for 11 years. The last 6 yrs. in FL we were self-employed - our own business. We were both Automobile Damage Appraisers working for various Insurance Companies. We did well with our business and feel that this taught us a great deal about responsibility, perseverance. pride and integrity. After saving as much money as we could and planning extensively for our future, we were finally able to leave our sticks & bricks home and jobs and do what we'd been dreaming of for years - to go full time RVing!!

When we first started full timing - we worked at a KOA campground in FL. I learned the KOA reservation system easily, worked in the office - reservations, stocking the store, sellling, cleaning - full time hours. Joe worked outside. Mowing, trimming, pool cleaning, general light maintenance and helping out wherever needed.

We then workamped at a 175 site RV park in Texas. Irene's jobs were registering guests using the Campground Management Reservation system; generally working with the public (which is greatly enjoyed) and working in the camp store and giving a hand with whatever needed doing. Joe worked outside - escorting guests to sites, light maintenance, pumping propane, mowing at times and helping out wherever needed. We totally enjoyed our jobs!! We stayed at this position for almost an entire year.

We worked from May 3, 2010 until Labor Day at the Flintstone's Bedrock City Camping Resort in Custer, SD. Both of us worked in the Diner - Irene ran the front register, greeted guests & diners, made ice cream dishes, gave information and generally worked the front of the diner. Joe was the cook. He also, on occasions, if not busy in back, came up to the front and helped out. Prior to the diner opening in later May, we both gave a hand wherever we were needed - painting, light maintenance, cleaning, stocking shelves & pricing - whatever was needed in order to open a campground and theme park for the season. Joe also helped with welding and mowing when we were not busy at the diner. The diner has now closed for Winter season.

We were considered Assistant Managers of the Diner. We both had lots of public contact and enjoyed it. We had 3 teenage girls who assisted us part time throughout the week. This was a totally new experience and we did enjoy it. We enjoy learning whatever we need to for a job - learn easily - and are very open to ALL new experiences and challanges.

We have a 2003 37' Jayco Designer being pulled by a 2004 3500 Dodge Dually PU. We can work most anywhere. We like new experiences and learning new things. We have always gotten along well with our fellow workampers and campers and love making new friends. We do not mind working hard - we know what hard work is. Our goal is to aim to please whoever we might work for.

Hope to hear from you soon!
