SUMMARY: George not only has the ability to fix almost anything he sets his mind to, he also knows when it's too broke to be fixed. While owning his own hardware store, he became familiar with parts and products related to the maintenance field. Penny not only enjoys working the office, she looks forward to the time spent working and maintaining the grounds. They both take ownership of every task at hand. George and Penny both enjoy interacting with people, always making them feel welcome.
BACKGROUND: Since retiring out of Utah in April of 2010, the Campeau's have continued their rv lifestyle serving at government owned and operated campgrounds and private rv parks.
12/2011 to present: National Park Service/Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument Ajo, AZ. As campground hosts, George and Penny are responsible for greeting campers, providing information regarding regulations and recreational opportunities, keeping campsites and grounds clean, and fee collecting.
10/2011 to 12/2011: Mountain Spirits RV Park Mimbres, New Mexico camphosting, while working counter, maintenance, propane sales at a small 20-site rv park with 60 storage units.
4/2011 to 9/2011: Albion River Campground Albion, CA Assistant manager team for 115-site private camp/rv park. George worked the grounds as head of maintenance and meeting and greeting guests. Penny worked the office/cafe/campstore, making reservations using the "Campground Manager" program.
11/2010 to 3/2011: National Park Service / Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument Ajo, AZ As campground hosts George and Penny were responsible for greeting campers, providing information regarding regulations and recreational opportunities, keeping campsites and grounds clean, and fee collecting.
5/2010 to 9/2010: U.S. Forest Service Copper Creek Campground - Bonners Ferry, ID Serving as camphosts, George and Penny were responsible for greeting campers, cleaning campsites, firepits, and restrooms.
SKILLS: George is able to troubleshoot, assess, and complete nearly any situation he is confronted with. His skills include carpentry, plumbing, painting, and welding. He enjoys interacting with the guests and is able to diffuse tense situations with tact.
Penny has mastered all aspects of the camp office including the reservation program, store inventory, cash register sales, camp registration and fee collecting. She also enjoys the outside work, including yardwork, cleaning fire pits, restrooms and overall grounds maintenance.
