Looking for Paid Positions with FHU site for the Fall/Winter Season 2010/11 in the Southwest. Available end of October 2010. We are experienced Workampers, having spent four years working at campgrounds from Cape Cod, MA to Gulf Shores, AL.

We are a healthy active responsible and reliable "younger" couple working our way accross the country while utilizing our experience to benefit various businesses along the way. We are traveling in our 2002 Safari Trek (28'), with a 2002 Toyota Prius in tow.

Melissa has a background in hotels (front desk & management), office management and administration. Gary has owned and operated a residential landscape maintenance and home repair business for over 25 years. We have also owned and operated food service and vending businesses. We are both: computer literate, creative problems solvers, with a can do attitude. and a willingness to learn and tackle new challenges.

Melissa's office and people skills have been well utilized in our recent campground positions, in the office and store. She has handled all aspects of running a retail store, reservations, and staff hiring & training. She is proficient in Ros, Campground Manager, Word, Excel & Quickbooks and easily learns new computer programs. She has used her computer proficiency to create time-saving documents and forms for the offices she has worked in. She has also done landscape design and garden installations, in addition to owning and operating food service units.


Gary is proficient in all phases of building and grounds maintenance and repair, including: basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, siding, remodeling. He is also experienced in the operation & maintenance of landscape equipment, including; ZTR mowers, backhoe/loader, skid steer, dump truck, snow plow, etc. Gary has also worked in; office, retail & restaurant, including, but not limited to: management, reservations, registration, cashier, stock, inventory control, ordering, line cook, prep & serving. Duties since Spring of 2007 have included: Bldg & Grounds maint, Plumbing & Electric service; installation, trouble shooting & repair, equipment maint & repair, propane pumping, reservations, store sales, Golf Course Cart Barn & more ...

We enjoy working in a team atmosphere but are also very capable of "running the show", if/when necessary. We are both creative problem solvers, who take pride in our work, always chipping in to get the work done and keep the operation running smoothly.
