Objective; We are Donald & Pearl Carignan work campers seeking position at any private campground, federal or state park , as Campground Host or Gate Keepers. Don. Was a Master BMW automotive Tech. for over 28 years.
Summary; Don, was an automotive mechanic since 1961, owned our home from 1970 until we sold it in 2003, doing electrical wiring upgrade / repair lamps, electric motors, painting, staining woodwork, some plumbing, lawn care on an acre lot.
Pearl; was a data entry clerk at Citizens Bank for 28 years.
She has a very good eye for color co-ordination from her sewing hobby, giving classes in quilting, sewing, to anyone in our present park.
Background; We have been full timing in our 40ft Allegro Phaeton Motor home since 2003. This summer was the first time that we ever did work camping. We covered for a couple from May 15, 2011 to September 17, 2011 at the Allegro Tiffin Repair Service Center in Red Bay, AL. We answered directly to Mr. Bob Tiffin owner of Allegro Motorhome Inc. phone # 256-356-8661 Ext 2206 .
It was fun meeting so many peoples from different back grounds listening to all their difference experiences and stories.
Duties; Included registering & assigning camp site to all customers into the campground, giving them the needed paper work / work orders for their repairs, when paper work was returned make sure that all needed information is filled in, then the wife entered all their info into the computer system. Collecting site fees as they left the campground, also making sure that the restrooms, laundry machines were working, clean & fully stocked, empty the monies from the washers & dryers weekly, keep the grounds free of litter and that no sewer hose was left on site while not connected to a coach. The work schedule was 14hr days for 14 days; we then had 2 weeks off. During our average week on we processed 80 to 100 coaches, being on site campground hosts. I had to take care of any issues that arose with either customers units or campground problems 24/ 7 when the shop was closed overnight or weekends even on our weeks off.
Skills;
Don; Customer service;- register campers, assigning sites, answering question.
Repairs;- make light repairs on my RV, also try to assist customers with theirs.
Plumbing ;- replace faucets, repair broken plastic pipes, some repairs to washers / dryers, Electric;- install lights, switches, fans, run wires, repair cords.
Painting;- prep, prime and apply latex and enamel paints indoors or outdoors.
Landscaping;- planting grass, trees, shrubs, racking & yard maintenance.
People;- dealing with customers as an auto tech, then campground host.
Maintenance;- clean restrooms, laundry / machines, empty vending machines weekly
Pearl; Customer service;- work at a busy reservation desk, registering campers and enter them in to the computer system, answer questions, deliver mail to customers, collecting site fees, handling money, credit card machine.
Maintenance; - keep registration office clean, maps and product advertisement books in stocked and in order, restaurant folder up-to-date
