Dave & Sheila Workampers
Hello! We are the Knapp's, David & Sheila. We are both 47 years old. We have been married 23 years, raised one son who is in graduate school and getting married himself on April 25th of 2009. We are a non-smoking, non-drinking, dependable couple. Our Colorado home was sold on 10/09/2008. We do not have any pets.
I semi-retired from my full-time career in aerospace electronics technology of 18 years to telecommute and to travel for business on a contract basis. We moved from Illinois to Colorado in 2005 after our son entered his sophmore year in college. In 2006 I contract worked in Phoenix for 17 months helping transition electronic production lines between IL and AZ facilities. We became interested in RVing & Workamping when the majority of our work involved some form of business travel. Sheila closed her day care operation in 2005 when we moved to Colorado and she also retired as Advancement Chairman with our council boy scout troop # 705. I consider myself very detail orientated, self-disciplined, with a positive, upbeat attitude while wearing a smile helping others. Sheila, is an awesome organizer and a great team player. She is a wonderful people person with great communication and inter-personal skills, gets a lot of positive comments from guests at our workamping assingments. We are way too young to retire and feel we have lots to offer to our workamper employers & guests!
We both are seeking an opportunity to work in a fast paced environment where we can interact with people. I work best with hands-on activities, enjoy learning new tasks, and can work alone or as a team player. We were both raised to believe in personal integrity and strong work ethics as our strongest attributes. I have very good knowledge of computers, electrical, gardening; have basic skills of plumbing systems, landscaping, carpentry, & maintenance/repairs; am a beginner novice at pool care; and have some basic knowledge of small engine work/repair. I operate a bobcat. I pump propane. Sheila desires to interact with others, and in the process, provide her employers the best possible job performance. Sheila is open to learning new tasks, and after years of experience being a day care provider and advancement chairman, she is also a team player. Her office experience with MS Office in planning activities calendars and handling activities for children and adults is part of makes her shine working with people. She is also willing to help with housekeeping duties. We prefer working the same days/hours and prefer to have our days-off contigously so that we can work longer work days with full energy and enthusiasm, however we are sensitive to the needs of business. We are always willing to be "on-call" for emergencies as well.
