Cover Letter
We would really love to have the opportunity to work at another KOA kampground. We're relatively new at this, but we have the drive and the personality to make a success of any position we may be offered.

Sometimes, the toughest times in our lives open us to a new path that offers more satisfaction than we ever dreamed possible. My husband and I have gone through difficult financial times recently, losing our home to foreclosure and my job to takeover by another bank. Instead of giving up, we thought through what's really important to us -- being together, being free to meet new challenges, people and see new places. Rather than add another burden to California?s already strained unemployment accounts, we decided to become full-time workampers and explore our wonderful country up close and personal!

We completed our first season at the Seattle/Tacoma KOA in August 2009 under the management of Carey Keith. With approximately 150 campsites in a more urban campground setting, we learned the use of Kampsight computer software, general store and maintenance routines and how to get along with a myriad of personalities and work styles. From there, we moved on the the Washington coastline and a privately owned RV park with about 130 campsites and 50 tent sites arranged over 12 acres in Westport. This is our first winter season position and we look forward to tackling special larger projects to enhance the beauty and efficiency of this resort over the windy/rainy months.

I'm confident that if you meet us and speak with those who have worked and lived near us, you'll see that we have a lot to offer. My project management skills help with the administrative side and my husband's experience as a handyman rounds out the team nicely.

Give us a chance and we'll give you more value than you could ever expect. We both work hard/smart and love to be around a variety of people of all ages and backgrounds.

Thank you for your consideration.

Michele and Charles Sherwood
