Work Wanted: Michael Chance
(Full-Time with 20' Custom Tiny House on Wheels)
ABOUT US Young couple (I'm 31 and she's 28) seeks open position near Austin, TX beginning in mid-September. We're both honest, clean, drug-free individuals who have been traveling America the past year in a solar powered tiny house on wheels (think log cabin but modern).
20-ft Custom Tiny House on Wheels (off-grid powered by solar panels with battery backup).
Michael's background is in business marketing with heavy knowledge in online marketing, website updates, customer service, and solar power. Other skills include: lifting heavy objects, construction & labor skills, computer skills, people management, troubleshooting & fixing technology, and hospitality.
Katie's background is art (photography & watercolor) and yoga (certified instructor). Other skills include gardening & weeding, computer skills, graphic design, and hospitality. She’s also an unofficial gourmet cook :)
July 2017. We most recently did some work/trade at a five-acre farm in Eugene, OR. Responsibilities included: weeding and landscaping the property using tools such as lawn mowers, weed wackers & chainsaws, harvesting crops that were in season (garlic and onions), feeding chickens, watering plants, cooking & cleaning multiple meals each week, and babysitting two small children ages 4 and 7.
April, May, June 2017. In late spring 2017 we did some work/trade at a Bed & Breakfast in Seaside, CA. We were in charge of general hospitality including but not limited to: greeting and checking in customers, meal preparation & clean up, cleaning the facilities (inside and out), gardening & weeding, feeding the chickens. Michael also assisted in construction projects including installing a flat roof on a newly constructed studio
and adding cedar shingling to the exterior.
January, February, March 2017. We were also involved in work/trade at a mobile home community in La Mesa, CA. Work tasks included but were not limited to: meal preparation & clean up, gardening & weeding, lawn maintenance, digging trenches, assisting with plumbing issues, and other park maintenance assistance. Michael also provided calculations and information on solar power systems for properties controlled by the park manager as well as smaller solar power systems for individual units.
December 2016. We were also involved with maintaining a small homestead in Yuma, AZ. Work tasks included but were not limited to: meal preparation & clean up, gardening & weeding, feeding goats & chickens, cleaning their living quarters. Michael also provided calculations and information on the solar portion of an off-grid aquaponics system.
June, July 2016. We were also involved with maintaining a small biological farm in Thackerville, OK. Work tasks included but were not limited to: meal preparation & clean up, gardening & weeding, feeding goats, chickens, rabbits, and guineas, cleaning their living quarters. Michael also provided calculations and information on the solar portion of an off-grid freezer.
