Willow Creek Campground

by Christie Smith
(Camptonville, CA)

Hello from Willow Creek Campground,

We are a small, quaint campground located in the California Sierra Mountains, 27 miles above Grass Valley. We have a total for 36 sites, including five rental cabins, twelve full hook-ups, five partial hook-ups, and fourteen tent sites. We have wonderful, dry, warm summers and beautiful, cold, crisp, snowy winters.

We are currently looking to fill a part time maintenance position and a part time office/store position for the long term. The compensation would be for site, including utilities and wi-fi, with pay considered for any hours worked over the minimum site hours (d.o.e). A work camper couple would be ideal but individuals and families are encouraged to apply.

Maintenance requirements: 20 hours per week (40 hours for site per month, 40 hour paid per month)

Plumbing and electrical a plus. Knowledge of outdoor equipment a must. You will be working on tractors, running splitters, chippers, chainsaws etc. Winter time requires snow removal and general up keep of buildings and grounds. Summer requires upkeep of grounds, cabins, power and water issues, as they arise.

We collect and cut all of our own firewood that is sold in the store. Chainsaw and splitter knowledge a must, as upkeep of these pieces can be costly if not properly cared for.

We are looking for a self motivator, with a willingness to work hard, and eager to learn new things. A good people person is a definite plus.

Office/Store requirements: Part time/fill in, could work into more.

Knowledge of computers, cash registers, and credit card machines a must. You will be required to respond to emails inquiring about the park and reservations, although we do not do online reservations. The store and office are open limited hours during the day and a radio must be on hand when not in the office to deal with check ins. Purchasing and inventory a plus.

People skills, phone skills a must. You are the first contact our guests have with us and therefore the first impression they get of our professionalism. An energetic, personable person, willing to learn, and creative in their approach to guest services is strongly desired.

If you are interested in the positions please contact Don, Kim, or Christie at Willow Creek Campground.

Thank you,

Christie Smith
Director of Hospitality
