RVers Looking for Work: Mike and Lynn Scott
(Part-Time RVers with a 38 Foot 5th Wheel)
We want to thank everyone who has viewed our listing. The response has been overwhelming. Making a decision from so many wonderful places has been difficult. However we have a place until October 31, 2016. Our next search will be for a winter place starting in January to April 2017.
Hello we are Michael and Lynn Scott. We would like to find places to go for one month to three months, so we can see more of this country. However we understand many want people for the entire season. We will consider all request.
Michael worked for the Illinois Dept. of Transportation for 35 years and in the Army, Army Reserves, and National Guard for 33 years. Retired 2012. Lynn worked as a teacher and librarian for elementary schools to grade eight. Retired in 2009.
Work Camper Experience Compton Ridge, Branson, MO 8/2013-9/2013. Compton Ridge Campground & Lodge 5040 State Highway 265 Branson, Missouri 65616 Phone: 417-213-5801 Private campground doing maintenance; repairs, grass cutting, bathroom /shower cleaning, housekeeping of cabins, hotel rooms and motel rooms. Worked two days to fill in for others’ days off.
Campground host for a national forest. Blue Ridge, Georgia 9/2013-10/10/2013 Manager Jessie Whalen We did maintenance, campground cleaning, restrooms, day use cleaning and collecting fees, grass cutting, painting and winterizing the park. Greeting guest, selling wood and ice.
Hoosier Forest in Indiana. Contact person Dee Hunt. Area Supervisor at Cradle of Forestry Interpretive Association - Campground Division 828-877-3130 we were managers there for a 50 plus campground with day use, beach, and boat dock. As managers we took reservations, fees, maintenance, mowing, repairs, electrical, plumbing and small engine repairs, bathroom cleaning, entertainment, escort guest, sell wood and ice, and managed a crew of four other people. We used the Reserve America system
Campground host at a state park in Desoto, Missouri. Park Ranger Sharon 636-222-2153. Greet guest, sold ice and firewood, cleaned fire ring, bathrooms and keeping the campground safe and happy. Cleaning restrooms/shower house, cleaning fire pits and camp sites. Taking reservations using the Recreation Dynamics system.
Michael has experience working with electrical and plumbing, small engine repair.
Lynn can clean, paint, minor carpentry, sew, crochet. Lynn was drama club coach, wrote, directed, and made sets and costumes for junior high school productions.
We both cook; help out our local Eagles, fraternal order, cooking for buffets and fish. We also cater for events, large and small; cater for Chick-Fil-A corporate clients, serve and clean-up. Planned, prepared, served, and clean-up for Wednesday night Bingo dinners. Estimated between 60-80 people. Michael was mess hall sergeant and cooked for the National Guard troops. We have both tended bar at the Eagles too.
We have both worked retail. Michael at Radio Shack, Lynn at Wal-Mart. Both managers. So cash registers, credit card machines, stocking, inventory, customer service, keeping a clean store, scheduling workers, working with vendors, etc.
Volunteer security for CSC, a security company for special events. We both plan events and work them for many different venues and all ages such as sports, runs, parades, fairs, etc.
Michael was also security officer for our local junior college for a number of years.
Need some additional
entertainment? Madame Elba, fortune teller or Mrs. Claus. Lynn writes some of the stories she tells We love pets, especially dogs and would love to walk and care for them as an additional amenity for guest.
