WA: Camp Host Wanted Immediately
Hi, My husband and I are camp hosts at the Tolt-MacDonald Park and Campground in Carnation, Washington, which is about 40 minutes east of Seattle. It is the King County Park system's only park with a campground. The park is looking for another camp host to work with us starting ASAP. My husband and I love it here and feel very fortunate to have found this place. It is beautiful and in a wonderful location. The duties are light. Most important is being a presence in the park when regular park staff are not available. Also, the hosts need to lock the gate in the evening and sometimes sell firewood. When campers check in they sometimes have questions and we try to assist them. There is no taking money from campers or cleaning bathrooms or other maintenance work. In exchange for this, a campsite is provided with 50 amp and water. There is no sewer, but twice a week a truck comes to pump out our black and gray water tanks and that seems to work just fine. If this interests you, check out the website for the park: www.kingcounty.gov/recreation/parks/inventory/toltmacdonald.aspx. If you have any informal questions about the park feel free to contact me here or directly at coneyo@gmail.com. We are not responsible for selection for the new camp host. We're just trying to help them out. To make a formal application, call Alan Sinsel at 206-296-2758 or email him at alan.sinsel@kingcounty.gov.
