Coleen's Watkins Website CA: Volunteer Workamper 25-30 Hrs. a Week Brite Lake Camp Host, Tehachapi, California. Camp hosts are needed at Brite Lake, located in Tehachapi, California. The position is available from October 2010 through April 15, 2011. Camp hosts must have their own RV. Tehachapi is known as the “Land of Four Seasons” and at times, all in one day. Temperatures can get below freezing. This position performs a variety of support services at the Brite Lake Park facility. The position answers directly to the District Manager and will assist park maintenance crews as needed. The host will maintain vigilance over the campground facilities and assist with collecting fees, record keeping, vehicle compliance information, light janitorial duties, encouraging compliance with campground rules and regulations, and customer service. This description is not all inclusive. The host is a volunteer with 25-30 hours weekly work schedule with a minimum commitment of four months with a maximum stay of six months, or as negotiated between parties. In exchange for volunteering, camp host will be provided with a camp host site which will include electrical, water, sewer and phone connection. The site is a special site set up so as to provide the camp host opportunities for interaction with campers, visitors, and to provide customer service information.
