Summer 2009 Paid Seasonal Jobs at VA State Parks
Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is advertising open positions for the summer 2009 season. Some of the jobs listed are: boat attendants, park maintenance rangers, lifeguards, housekeepers, food technicians, and park interpreter. Stated hourly pay is $8 - $12. Openings are listed at several state parks, including Chippokes Plantation State Park, First Landing State Park, Kiptopeke State Park, Leesylvania State Park, and Mason Neck State Park. Volunteer Campground Hosts Needed Fall 2009 at Goblin Valley State Park Welcome to southeast Utah! This incredible part of the country is filled with bizarre geology, unique desert wildlife, great hiking trails, and fantastic fall weather. We’re looking for RVers to volunteer 30 hr/wk during September - October 2009 in exchange for a campsite. Goblin Valley is a small state park with a small staff, so we’re definitely looking for someone with a do-anything attitude. Basic duties include staffing the visitor center and doing light maintenance. If you’d like, you can do an evening interpretive ranger program as well. Advertising Sales Work Pays CommissionsWe are looking for an experienced and skilled sales person to join our team who will sell listings in a virtual outdoor travel guide. We have around 410,000 leads. We pay $60 for every paid listing acquired, plus a bonus every month you over 30 sales and even bigger bonus if you have 40 or more sales. The leads themselves are just bought databases, but think about it this way, if you only sold to 1% of them that is $246,000 in commissions. Let's say you sold only to .0015 of them that is $36,900 in commissions. We pay through PayPal on an agreed upon cycle; down the road other options may be available. The person we hire must be honest, reliable, a self starter, hard working, and able to speak and write fluent English. Also, as this is a telecommute position you will need your own computer with broadband Internet and a telephone with an unlimited plan (or you may negotiate for a VOIP phone). Office Assistant, Swan Lake NWR
Looking for work campers to assist with operating The Swan Lake NWR in Sumner, MO. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week each for a couple or 24-32 hour per week for a single in exchange for full camper hooks. The camper sites are 20’x40’ and are equipped with water/electrical (both 50A&30A) and sewer hookups. Your duties will include running the Visitor Center on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Duties include greeting visitors, answering questions about the refuge, operating a small museum and some light office work. You will also be responsible for general janitorial & cleaning services (i.e. vacuuming the carpet, sweeping off the main sidewalk entrance, cleaning and re-supplying the restrooms) of the Visitor Center’s offices and restrooms on those days. On occasions you will assist with special social events held on the refuge. Paid, Seasonal Position Hanging Christmas Lights and Decorations
The job entails hanging/stringing lights, garland, setting up Christmas trees, and generally providing/installing what our clients want to decorate their homes/businesses. You would be located in Lenoir City, TN, which is about 20 miles south of Knoxville. We always have more work than we can do and we need quality minded people to help us get the work done in the short time that is the holiday season. You will need to be able to climb a ladder, work some evenings, and be willing to do what it takes to get everyone's decorations up in a timely manner. You will need to be a team player and be very flexible. Training pay is $8 per hour. The starting pay after training is $9 an hour for all hours worked and overtime after 40. People are needed starting anywhere from October 1 - 15. The starting date is somewhat flexible. The season winds down around December 10, so you will be done in time to go home to your families if you wish. After New Years, we have to take down all the decorations we put up. If you want to work take down, you can work that too. You would just have to let us know if you wanted to work or not. There is bonus money available to help out with your site rent and we are looking for people who can take charge of a crew if/when they feel they are ready for that responsibility. If you feel you are a bit more agile, and are not afraid of heights, the starting pay for people who can safely climb on steep roofs is $12 an hour. This work is very rewarding.
