Tetlin Visitor Center – Milepost 1229 (8 miles from US/ Canada border, 90 miles from Tok) is a beautiful log cabin center which offers a spectacular view of the Refuge from its large viewing deck. Inside are new exhibits (as of 2009) along with Native arts demonstrations. Visitor Center volunteers help with the operation and maintenance as well as giving interpretive programs to visitors. We’re looking for friendly, energetic couples to help fill an 8-week position from May 24 to July 16, 2010. This opportunity is for a couple traveling with their RV trained in visitor services and maintenance. This location has an RV site (up to 28’) with accommodations for water, power, and sewer. Volunteers work four days/week for a total 32 hours and are provided with a meals/ incidentals allowance (approximately $31.50/day/ person) while on site along with a one time travel allowance of up to $300./ couple.
