Workamper Volunteers Needed at TX Campground
Work camp volunteers needed to work two days a week for site with FHU, and Wi-Fi. Consists of one day in store/office, taking reservations, phones, cashier, cleaning, and restocking shelves. The other day would be doing ground maintenance, mowing, etc., or odd jobs here in the park. You may also be asked to help on busy weekends. No pay. We are pet friendly. FL 55+ Mobile/RV Park + Citrus and Strawberries
We have several businesses at one central Florida location including a 55+ mobile home/RV park, roadside fruit stand (marketing our citrus), and U-pick/we pick hydroponic strawberries which are grown one to four feet above the ground in rotating stackers. List of duties includes retail sales at fruit stand, mowing in the park, tractor work, irrigation maintenance, weeding and picking strawberries (again, the berries are grown in revolving stackers resulting in easy care and picking), and park maintenance. We are looking for a couple starting April 1 and working through September 1. A full hook-up RV site including $50 toward electric is provided for 20 hours work a week, per work camp couple. By volunteering through this program at the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge, YOU can make a difference! Tetlin Visitor Center – Milepost 1229 (8 miles from US/ Canada border, 90 miles from Tok) is a beautiful log cabin center which offers a spectacular view of the Refuge from its large viewing deck. Inside are new exhibits (as of 2009) along with Native arts demonstrations. Visitor Center volunteers help with the operation and maintenance as well as giving interpretive programs to visitors. We’re looking for friendly, energetic couples to help fill an 8-week position from May 24 to July 16, 2010.
