Out Dated Adds

(Larry M. writes...)

Why are you still showing 2010 jobs? I tried on two and was told the jobs were filled last year. Then they laughed.

Coleen, the working while RVing editor comments:

We allow employers to have their ad posted for up to a full year. If they have filled the positions and are no longer accepting applications, it is their responsibility to notify us. When an employer lets us know a position is filled, we either remove it at their request or mark it as "position filled."

You'll find the most recent ads listed in the current month. Since this is April, the ads listed in April are all less than 30 days old.

And, since this is April, and because ads can remain on the site for up to a year, if you look at the May postings, those will be from May 2010. On May 1, 2011, we'll remove those old ads and start posting new ads onto that page.

Be glad you made those phone calls. How they responded to you tells you something about them. If you replied to their ad and they laughed at you, are they the kind of people you want to work with? Would you want to work for them if they did have an opening? Sounds to me like you lucked out big time by getting that information before you wasted anymore of your time pursuing a job with them.
