Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP)

Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP) volunteers are Christian RVers who travel the USA, working construction and remodel projects, teaching God's word along the way.

What is MMAP?

by Jeff Humiston

Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP) is comprised of Christians who are retired and travel via some type of self-contained recreational vehicle on the North American Continent. A membership includes BOTH husband and wife (couples only are accepted as members). Along with traveling, our members enjoy serving God and His people in a special way, working on selected projects at Christian churches, camps, missions, orphanages, and other Christ centered activities.

Primarily, our work involves construction, renovation, or remodeling, but many other areas are touched as well. Every kind of worker is utilized as the needs are varied in God’s vineyard; therefore, we can accommodate everyone who is willing to apply himself or herself to the task at hand. (A project lasts 3 weeks, working 4 days a week, 7 hours a day). Many of our people bring with them construction skills and soon pass these skills on to others. Of course, the most valuable contribution is a life dedicated to serving Jesus, and the skill of applying the teaching of the word of God to every situation.

All members are financially independent and self-supporting, and pay all of their own transportation costs to and from the project sites. They also provide their own medical insurance.

We attempt to locate our projects to take advantage of the best climatic conditions possible; normally moving south in the winter months, (southern U.S.) and north during the summer months, (northern U.S., Canada, and Alaska).

Our project hosts provide parking and utilities for us and supply all materiel for the work. We carry our own hand tools. Interaction with those we serve is encouraged, as the mutual benefits of fellowship together are blessings.

MMAP is a non-profit, charitable organization, and is registered and approved by both the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California. It is supported entirely by voluntary contributions from its members. MMAP is a non-denominational and inter-denominational body adhering to the word of God as it is written in the Holy Bible. We emphasize the simplicity of God’s plan of redemption and thereby promote unity in the organization.
