Blackwater River State Forest

Blackwater River State Forest, with seven recreation areas, offers opportunities for outdoor action and relaxation. With forest and water resources, park visitors enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, nature study, swimming, canoeing, picnicking, trail rides, etc.
All positions are currently filled.All positions are currently filled.~~ The first volunteer camp host position is at Krul Lake Recreation Area. This is a swimming lake and there are lifeguards. The gates are open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The host would then clean the campground and bathroom. The host site is nestled in trees, with two sites together. This is 52-site campground.

~~ The second volunteer camp host position is at Bear Lake Recreation Area. This is a fishing lake with lots of nature to enjoy. The RV site is a full hookup site. Duties include checking and cleaning the restrooms, and checking the campsites when the campers leave. This campground has 40 sites, 32 with electric and eight non-electric.

~~ The third volunteer camp host position is at Hurricane Lake Recreation Area. This is a small remote campground. It has 18 primitive, non-electric sites. It is a fishing lake and used a lot for hunting and fishing.
