Update From Your Work for RVers and Campers Newsletter Editor

Bob and I aren't doing anything too out of the ordinary at the moment. But…

Take a look at full-time RVer Terry Regennitter. Besides being a state park volunteer, Terry is a heritage craft and trade demonstrator. Terry sent us this great picture at Yesteryear Village.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Resume for Work Campers?

~~ Mike asks about resumes: My husband & I recently retired & live full time in our 40' MH. We are interested in volunteering or working part time as hosts, light maintenance, etc. Is there a specific way to put together a resume for this type of work? Is there a site that I can see a sample of the resume?

~~ I answered in part: When we have worked at campgrounds or RV parks, we've never used a resume. They've never asked for one before or after we started working.

A resume is a helpful tool for you to take to a job interview or to use when filling out job applications. Even if you don't actually give it to the prospective employer, it is a handy way to have all your information organized and gathered together. How else can you remember the dates and contact information of your past work history and experience?

~~ Your thoughts? Do you use a resume? If so, what kind? Read the longer version of my answer and post your comments.

Working RVer Tip

You found your perfect job – but the position was already filled. Don't just brush it off. Check back with the employer or workamper manager. You may find the job is now available. With high gas prices, some workampers aren't traveling. Health problems and personal circumstances cause other RVers to change their plans. With Memorial Day weekend behind us, and the summer camping season gearing up for full swing, park managers, service business owners, and retailers serving the tourist market have positions they must fill ASAP.

Welcome!

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
