Words of Wisdom from Workers A Recipe For Success In Sales ~~ Myrtle writes: As a sales person, I learned from the beginning, I do not have to speak negative of the competitor's products. I only have to present myself in appropriate attire and with a professional attitude, tactfully find out the prospective client's needs, know my product well, tout its features and benefits according to the client's needs, answer all his questions as positively as possible, and then let the chips fall where they may. If I've done my job well, I'll wind up with the sale. = = = = = Ways RVers Make Money Here’s a sampling of work RVers do to earn a living and pay for their travels. ~ Motorhome rental company detailer
= = = = = Working RVer Bill Shares His Experiences and Offers Suggestions Buying and Selling Used Computers ~~ Bill writes: I have a high dollar skill. I can buy a computer at a yard sale, for maybe $20. Then I can scrub the data, clean it up, upgrade from my massive salvage parts inventory, and resell for $100 to $150. High net for several hours effort. Still, if I sell two of these a week, it is less than $1000 per month. Flea Market Sales ~~ Bill suggests: Find out what flea markets and swap meets are in your area. There should be a handful within an hour's drive. Each week, visit just one and review what they are selling and their prices. If you're considering an MLM, take the catalog and compare prices. Get a notebook and keep a diary. After four to six weeks, you'll start seeing how this works. Then, you'll have a better idea. ~~ I add: Great idea! Also, watch what the vendors who are actually selling something are doing. You'll see that they aren't sitting there with their head in a book. They aren't off visiting with other vendors. They are there, working their booths, interacting with browsers and turning them into customers. You'll also see that price may or may not be a factor in who is selling; if price was the only thing people looked for, convenience stores probably wouldn't sell much pop or candy because you can usually get those things for less at the supermarket. Competition When There Are Many Company Reps ~~ Bill continues: I live in OKC (Oklahoma City, OK) and the metro and surrounding area is 800,000 people. There must be several hundred Avon, Amway, Tupperware, etc., members here. There's a whole page of Amway distributors, plus Regional, and Corporate phone listings. How can you compete with that? Well, actually you can. Just do it. ~~ I add: Bill is so right. You stop researching. You stop planning. You stop finding reasons (excuses) for why you can't. And, as Bill says, you just get out there and do it.
