Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Working Flea Markets

~~ A motorhomer writes: I want to travel around in my motorhome and sell at flea markets. It looks like so much fun and I think it would be perfect to do while RVing. I rep for a company now, and I know the products would sell well. They don't take up much space, so I don't have to worry about that. My question is: How do I find the flea markets and how do I know if a market will be good or not? ~~ I answered in part: Get yourself a good flea market guide. It gives you names, locations, dates, times, and contact information. A good directory also gives you extra details about the markets.

You should be able to use the guide to find out what kinds of things sell at a particular market. Do most of the vendors sell new merchandise? Or, used? Are there arts and crafts dealers? Is it mostly high priced antiques?

A good flea market guide includes vendor space information. How many booths are available? How big are they? Are they inside, outside, or under cover? Can you put up your own canopy? Do you need reservations? If so, when and how can you make them?

You'll find more questions to ask and detailed information on our website.

Ranch Sitting Gives Caretakers Storybook Scenery, Free RV Parking, and Pay

Ranch sitting pays the bills, gives us a free RV parking, and puts us in a storybook scene of beauty. Unlike volunteer workamping, this property caretaking paid an hourly wage.

I sit looking out my RV window at horses grazing in a lush pasture. Brilliant red cardinals come and go from view. Across the way, deer live in the trees. I can sometimes see them wonder down to the brook for a drink. This is not storybook scene. It is real.

Working RVer Tip

If you are trying to make money selling products, use the products you sell rather than similar products from your competitor. Doing so builds your credibility with your potential customers. It also advertises the products for you.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
