Job Titles

Don't assume the job title describes the position you envision.

Here's a new article I just posted on the website. It can save you a lot of grief and frustration.

Working RVer Tip

Construction companies hire seasonal workers. You knew that. But, have you thought about what positions they need to fill, about the various jobs they have open? When you think "construction worker" do computer skills, a pleasant telephone voice, and customer service skills come to mind?

An ad in our local paper has a road construction company seeking an office receptionist. The job is May through October. It calls for long days, with the likelihood of working weekends. It happens to be in Alaska, where with our near 24 hours of day light, road crews work day and night, seven days a week.

If you want a part-time job that allows you time to go fishing and see the sights, this wouldn't be for you. But, if you want to spend the summer in a gorgeous part of the USA, and you want to put away a chunk of money to finance your winter travels, this could be ideal.

No RV site is mentioned in the ad, because they are not specifically looking for RVers. However, many construction companies have large parking areas for their trucks and heavy equipment. There could easily be room for an RV.
