Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

The local bakery, The Moose Is Loose, has scrumptious donuts. We find ourselves going their several times a week. And, it seems the same smiling clerk is always there, no matter what day. This morning, I asked her if she ever gets a day off. She told me that in past years, she's worked four hours a day, three days a week. But this year, they have been so short handed that she's been working much more than that. Indeed, throughout the summer, we've seen their Help Wanted signs on the door, looking for clerks, bakers, and a maintenance person. They hire seasonal workers -- she's one of them and will be leaving in early October. If you were going to visit Alaska for the summer, wouldn't a job working a few hours a day, a few days a week, at a bakery be a sweet gig?

Speaking of sweet, they are still hiring for the sugar beet harvest in North Dakota.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Caretaking Jobs

Bob and I have done several stints as property caretakers. You can find an article I wrote about some ranch sitting that we did, where we shared a pasture with a flock of brilliantly colored red cardinals. But, we aren't what I would call "professional" caretakers. However, if you'd like to hear what that is like, there's also an article by an RVer who fully embraces the caretaking lifestyle. You'll also find other caretaking articles.
