Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We hope your Independence Day holiday was a good one -- whether you worked at a campground, played at a campground, or dreamed of the day you'd be at a campground.

We opted not to go to a campground for the weekend, thinking they would be packed. However, I'm hearing mixed reports, that some parks were crazy busy and that others had plenty of open sites.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Selling Your Hobby Crafts at RV Parks

~~ An RVer asks: Do RV campgrounds care if a person sells his hobby work, such as liquor bottle lights, or woodwork items such as plant pots or such?

~~ I answered in part: Some parks have regular flea market days as part of their activity programs, maybe one Saturday a month. Others have one every weekend. Those that do this encourage the RVers staying with them to set up a table selling what they make. And, they encourage people to attend and shop.

Ways RVers Make Money

Here's a sampling of work RVers are doing to cut their expenses, earn a living, and pay for their travels. These are local, summer positions, that I've recently seen advertised. One was advertised in the local newspaper. The others had signs on their front doors, in their windows, on their parking lot signs, or banners across the front of their buildings.

~ Mail service staff
~ Bakery maintenance man
~ State park boat launch host
~ Fast food restaurant janitor
~ Grocery store cashier
~ Rental store clerk

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Who Is Eligible for Camp Work?

~~ An RVer asks: We are former RVers. We now own a park model in an RV park in AZ. Are we eligible to apply for jobs as camp workers?

~~ I answered in part: Yes! You are eligible to apply for camp work jobs. When you say that you are former RVers, I'm guessing you mean you used to travel by motorhome or bus, regular or fifth-wheel travel trailer, or pop-up or pick-up camper. However, since you now have a park model, you are still RVers.
