Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

If you plan to be near Hershey, PA, the weekend of September 14 - 16, you might want to work as a Greeter for what Camping World is billing as the "World's Largest RV Show." You will receive a competitive hourly rate, daily food stipend, and a Camping World t-shirt. Details are on the September jobs listing page.

We've been doing extra outside work around our home base, getting ready for winter. We've already had frost in the neighborhood. We may be staying in Alaska this winter, partly because of continued medical treatment for my jaw.

If you are looking at working in a colder part of the country and want information on cold-weather RVing, we have articles on our RV Life and Travel website that you should find helpful. You'll find them here.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

#1 Recommended Work for RVers -- Watkins Summit Group Business

I'm looking for people who would like to sell Watkins products at craft shows, holiday bazaars, fall festivals, etc. The products are top of the line in quality, but economically priced. It's not a hard sell. People want our famous vanilla, pepper, and cinnamon for fall baking, as well as for gifts. The support and training from the Summit Group is unmatched.

Part of our income comes from my being an Independent Watkins Associate (ID #362289) within the Summit Group. I'd love to help you build a successful business, too. To find out what we do and how you can get started click here.

When show casing yourself to an employer, did you remember to include "patience" as one of your skills or attributes? Whether you are applying to work a seasonal job in a retail store or the front desk of a campground, patience is highly desirable.

Working RVer Tip

Craft fairs aren't just for crafters. Many craft fair organizers welcome baked goods, homemade jams and jellies, signature salsas and other food items. Handmade items of all types are normally welcome. Some also allow commercially purchased (not homemade) items. You may also be able to provide a service at craft fairs, such as doing massage or wrapping gifts.

Mossy Creek Barnyard Festival: Profitable for Art, Craft, Food, and Show Vendors

The Mossy Creek Barnyard Festival is one of our favorites. It takes place every spring and again every fall. This year the fall show is October 20 and 21, 2012. The following link goes to an article on our website that I wrote about it. In it, you'll find a variety of ways vendors are making money at the show. There are those you'd expect, such as food concessions and photographers. But, also dulcimer players and brush makers. Click to read the article.
