Workers On Wheels Work For RVers and Campers

Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Special thanks goes to our campground owners and other employers who are paying hourly wages for all hours work, along with providing an RV site.

I've seen several newspaper stories and a TV report lately that depict campground hosts as retired freeloaders, just looking for a rent free place to stay. I cringe whenever I see those. Partly, because they make working RVers look like a bunch of bums who need to get a life. And, partly because I believe it does a disservice to all the working RVers who give an honest day's work and in return expect and deserve an honest day's pay. Whether working for a wage, bartering part-time work for an RV site, or volunteering to give back to society, working RVers make valuable contributions to businesses and to non-profit agencies.

Many of the jobs I've posted the past few days are open to single workers, as well as to couples. There's a mix of paid, work-for-site, and volunteer positions.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Would You Like to Go on an All Expense Paid Trip with Us Next Spring?

We're getting ready for a trip to Cancun! Our Watkins business did really well this past year. Well enough that we earned the Performance Rewards grand prize. It's an all expense paid trip to Cancun, Mexico, that we'll be taking in March. This isn't an RVing trip. We'll be flying down and staying at the Fiesta Americana Condesa, an all-inclusive beachfront resort. Watkins pays for my flight from Alaska to Mexico and back, pays for the resort (including all meals and all drinks), entertainment, and even gratuities. We've been on these Watkins trips before and they are top notch all the way.

One of the neat things about this is that regardless of where in the USA or Canada our RV travels took us during 2011, our Watkins business kept growing. I love RVing and traveling. I love that our Watkins business fits in with RVing so well.

Watkins has the Performance Rewards Program again in 2012. If you'd like to join us and go along with us on next year's trip, just let me know. They haven't yet announced the trip destination for 2013, but it is always a great trip. You can make it happen. They actually have a fast start program that makes it easier for new associates to earn the trip.

Working RVer Tip

You don't need a new RV to work in most campgrounds. However, many require that your RV look nice. Clean and neat count a great deal. Get rid of excess baggage piled on top, attached to the front or back, or along the side. Keeping your older rig in good repair also goes a long way in having RV parks accept you and it.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
