Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

The local cafe once again proves to be a good source of jobs for RVers. We were having coffee yesterday morning when a local building contractor came in. He was bemoaning that he was supposed to be out on the job, but that his helper wasn't going to be able to show up for work. He looks over at Bob and says, "You want a job for an hour?"

So, off the two of them go. Bob was wearing work clothes. All they had to do was finish their coffee and they were ready to work.

This one-hour spur of the moment job turned into an offer for extended work. It's not full-time. It's not every day. It's not permanent. It's perfect for RVers. Bob enjoys change in his work, doing different kinds of jobs. This gives him another work experience. And, the pay is decent.

If you want the flexibility and income that comes with owning your own business, we have two special offers this month. Both our Summit Group Watkins team and SitebuildIt! are offering freebies. If you've thought of doing either (or both), now is the time.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Working RVer Tip

Get and use business cards. If you don't have a business, use them as a mini resume. Hand them out liberally. Full length resumes, applications, and business flyers get filed and forgotten -- or tossed. Business cards stick around. I was reminded of this earlier this week when I dug out and called someone who had given me his business card five years ago.

Dress for the Job You Want: First Impressions Are Still a Fact of Employment

Bob has a true story about why he was hired as a heavy equipment operator fresh out of tech school. He credits his red shirt! He went to inquire about a job, wearing a red chamois shirt, black leather vest, and clean jeans. A few days later the secretary called him to come to work. She remembered him because of what he was wearing.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
