Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Full-time RVing is good for marriage. At least it has been good for Bob and me. We celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary tomorrow.

Prospective RVers sometimes write asking about all the closeness, concerned that they will get on each other's nerves. Well, Bob and I thrive on being close. We relish not only living in the small space of an RV, but also working together every day.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Survey Feedback

~~ Crystal responds to our recent Workers On Wheels poll about her reason for wanting to be a working RVer:

I am (or am trying to be) a working RVer because: I want to clean toilets in a campground. No, not really! However, my husband travels for a living. I have been traveling with him for 10 years now in our 5th wheel. I would like to do something with myself and contribute. Yet, I can't seem to find any jobs that except the short term and random timeframes of his career. His jobs may last anywhere between two weeks to six months at a time. Exact dates of his job are never known ahead of time. I love traveling, but I am looking for some kind of home business or travel career with more financial security.

~ I reply: I agree that you have the right idea -- that having a home business would work better for you than trying to find employment. Something that you could do from the RV, wherever it was parked (or even while going down the road). Something that it wouldn't matter what town or state you were in, or how long you were there. Something that would give you money now and help fund your retirement. One option is to be an Independent Watkins Associate. (That's one of the things I do; ID #362289.) It's flexible, so you can work it according to what suits you. There's a video tour that gives you details.

Mount Desert Island Campground

Playa Del Rio RV Park, Pensacola, FL

Playa Del Rio is a charming 30 unit park located west of Pensacola, Florida, on Perdido Key barrier island. The manager, Bonnie, is great and takes good care of the guests. The beach is very close, and the dock, at the rear of the park, is very relaxing.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.

If you have questions, we're always happy to help. Simply submit them here....
