RV Park Activity Directors Are Musicians And Entertainers

~ Working RVers Bill and Mary Condry

Bill and Mary Condry love playing music and making people laugh. And that is the core of what they do in their daily work as RV park activity directors. They make friends. They entertain. "Most RVers love to have fun," comments Bill. "We try our best to keep them busy and enjoying themselves."

They arrived at the RV park as paying guests. Ever ready musicians, Bill and Mary played outside their rig in the evenings. The park owners heard the music and the laughter. They saw how RVers gathered around. They saw the easy bantering and good times. Before long, they asked the Condrys to stay on as activity directors.

Working RVer Tip

The technology you use every day, and probably take for granted, can be a plus when trying to land a job. Skype, iPhones, the Internet, cable TV, e-mail, digital cameras, WiFi, MiFi, smart phones… many folks need help using them. Let employers know what technology you are familiar with and are comfortable using.

Family With Children On The Road

~ Working RV Mom of Three

RV worker profiles are often of couples. This profile includes three children. Their mother tells me she knows they will be different because they are home-schooled, and because that home is an RV.

She writes: When we first went full-time, my husband worked for Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), placing the 25 cent gum ball machines in certain locations. The job was good and paid well. We went to Florida our first winter and after a few months were told that they were not making enough money to have us work there.

We found other employment. We worked for a company called World Optical, selling eyeglass cleaner in Wal-Marts.

Self-Employment - Have a Business You Can Take RVing Wherever You Go -- Watkins Summit Group Bus. Info

I believe in self-employment and having my work be fun and flexible.

Specifically, I believe in being an Independent Watkins Associate. With it, you can work part-time or full-time. You can stay in one place or to move as often as you like. You can work it in social situations, out among the public. Or you can work it online and by phone, from the comfort of your RV. It is very flexible. And, it can be very profitable.

Part of our income comes from my being an Independent Watkins Associate (ID #362289) within the Summit Group. You could be one, too.

New associates who enroll in August receive special incentives from both Watkins and our Summit Group leaders. My Summit Group website will give you the details.

Working RVer Tip

Attitudes are contagious. If your co-worker or supervisor is grumpy or ungrateful, give him a smile and a compliment.

Help Wanted Ads Publication

If you are looking for a publication that lists page upon page of Help Wanted ads, I recommend The Caretaker Gazette. It is available both as an online publication and a printed on paper magazine. You'll find jobs at campgrounds listed in it, as well as for various other caretaking work, such as jobs at resorts, on farms, and doing personal care.

I do not write or publish The Caretaker Gazette. I sell subscriptions to it because it is the best source of Help Wanted caretaker ads that I've found. When you order through us, I do receive a commission on the sale.

~~ Order The Caretaker Gazette (or learn more about it) from our website.

Successful Show Vendors

I watch the presentation Mrs. Wheeler gives and listen to her sales pitch. Then I turn towards her husband and watch as he collects money and hands out the pre-packaged goods to the customers. "I do the work and he takes the money," she quips.

This is part of the system the Lilias and Walter use to make their business run smoothly. She shows the product -- effortlessly using the Tartmaster to make sample ravioli, filled cookies, and stuffed pies out of dough.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
