Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We've got some terrific newly posted Help Wanted ads this week. Quite a few pay for all hours worked, plus provide an RV site and hookups. For those who like to do exchanges, several workamper positions are asking for 6 to 16 hours a week. If you'd like a position that includes golf privileges, we have one of those. You'd rather the benefits included fishing charters in Alaska? Yep, we've got a job offering that, too.

Check our website often -- every day -- for new jobs. Some of the positions get filled within hours of when I post them. Easiest way to find them is to go to our blog, where you'll see a list of the headlines. Just click on the link that you find there and it will take you to the complete postings with the job details and contact information.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Magnetic Car Signs

~~ Bob C asks: Would magnetic car signs for services or products that could be sold in campgrounds be a problem with management?

~~ I answered in part: I've never come across (or heard of) any campground that objected to them. They are low key enough that they aren't usually seen as actively soliciting. I see many magnetic signs, as well as decals and lettering, on vehicles in campgrounds.

~~ Read the longer version of my answer -- and add your comments -- on the website.

Another Readers Shares His Dream Job

RV Park Karaoke Entertainer

~ from Jim Baird

My dream job is to be an RV park Karaoke entertainer. What we never find at parks though is Karaoke! I would imagine if you were not on some type of travelling circuit schedule that anything long term would be a hybrid position. I'm thinking I would work the office (am computer literate) and other lighter physical duties that would be lacking there, like dog walking/sitting etc.

Working RVer Tip

Who you know does matter. When applying for a job, it helps if you can use someone positively affiliated with the company or organization as a reference. Perhaps someone on the board of directors, a past employee, or a good customer.

Working RVer Tip

Sometimes less is better. Some employers want you to be at the jobsite only when you are working. If you are working at a campground, that doesn't mean they don't want you at the campground when you aren't on duty. It means that on your free time you shouldn't interfere with whoever is working. It means you shouldn't hang around the office just for the sake of being there.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
