Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

I'm writing this issue of the newsletter while parked at Mustang Island State Park. Bob and I are in the Corpus Christi and Port Aransas area for a few days. Bob's sister lives here.

If things go as planned, we'll be in the Rio Grande Valley later this week. I want to go to the "All Valley" RV Show. Show dates this year are January 13 - 15. It is held at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Showgrounds in Mercedes, Texas.

For those of you interested in the general nature of our RV travels, I've been updating our RV Life and Travel website.

~ Go to our RV Life and Travel blog.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

RV Site Value -- What is the Campsite Value to Working RVers?

The real RV site value to you may be what you would have paid for rent if you didn't have that site. But other factors come into play.

Take for example a campground in the Florida Keys that charges $2100 per month. That is the discounted rate they charge RVers who stay for three months. I used that figure because that is a realistic time for a work camper to stay on assignment. Would you ever pay that?

~~ Read the rest of this article on the website.

Working RVer Tip

Working away from the campground means it is easier to leave your job at the end or your work shift.

Agricultural Jobs for Campers and RVers: Jobs Involving Plants and Animals

Agricultural jobs are more than farm hands and ranch work. It's working rodeos, Christmas tree lots, and teaching ag science. Raising livestock and producing crops, yes. But, also agribusiness from seed development to marketing. Anything, really, that involves plants and animals.

~~ You'll find about a dozen ag job articles on the website.

Working RVer Tip

It usually isn't necessary to list the name of your high school and year of graduation on your resume. The exception is if the job requires a high school diploma and you don't have education beyond high school included on your resume.

Earning a Living with a Website

If you've thought about making some extra money with a blog or website, or if you want to get serious and build an e-commerce business, I suggest you look at SBI. It is a suite of tools, all in one place. It's a great how-to guide -- and, they do a lot of the behind the scenes work for you.

Words of Wisdom from Workers

It's All About Timimg

~- Frank P. writes: Job hunting is like showering -- the more often you do it the more it improves your chances.

~~ That's one line quoted from what he wrote. Read his entire very worthwhile post on the website. It's in the comment section.

Reader Feedback

~ Chuck writes: Yeppers, but those "distractions" are what makes it fun. I've been known to burn two tanks of gas on a weekend and never get 50 miles from home, go till some trail looks interesting and go till some weed or bush looks neat, a lot of times within rock throwing distance of the house, LOL. Enjoy those distractions; you may never get to see them again.

Welcome!

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.

If you have questions, we're always happy to help. Simply submit them here....
