Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Bob's been busy doing some extra maintenance on our motorhome. It was time to replace batteries, change fluids, and get new windshield wiper blades. Actually, he had a whole list of things to check, and if needed, to replace or repair. Owning an RV home is similar in that regard to owning a sticks and bricks home -- there is always upkeep and maintenance to keep it running smoothing.

I've been working on finishing up some end of summer projects.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Family Workamping with a Child

~~ Charlotte asks: We will be a family workamping with a child. My husband and I are planning to fulltime in three years. Our daughter will be twelve. Will we be able to find workamping jobs given that we have three living in the RV, not just two? We assume we will be able to maintain hours that allow us maximum time with our child, too.

~~ I answered in part: Don't make it an issue.

When you write your resumes and Work Wanted ads, don't try to get cute and offer your child's services. He/she is not part of your work team.

After you have been offered the job and are in the negotiation phase, the fact that you have a third person living in the RV may be relevant.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Historic Mining Town

~~ Joy writes: A help wanted ad was posted for a New Mexico historic mining town that was to be restored. I am very interested to learn more, however the only contact was an e_mail address that turned out to be undeliverable.

~~ I answered in part: I wonder if there was maybe just an add glitch when you emailed. That should be a good email address.

You can find more information about Chloride, New Mexico, on the Pioneer Store Museum website. I think it covers the entire historic mining town. If you like history, mines, and/or ghost towns, it looks like it would be a fascinating place to do some volunteer work.

Starlite Classic Campground

~~ Sylvia Davids

Starlite Classic Campground is a unique campground and RV park located in the Royal Gorge Region of Colorado. We have the best whitewater rafting in Colorado, as well as the best fly fishing. There is so very much to do in this area, I think you could come back 20 years in a row and still not discover everything.

Vintage (pre 1975) interest a huge plus.

Working RVer Tip

Many employers greatly appreciate an employee who looks for what needs doing and goes ahead and does it. However, that doesn't mean you should disregard doing what your supervisor told you to do, or how to do it, just because you see something else you think you should do.

Welcome!

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
