Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We hope that you are in the midst of a fun filled, and safe, Labor Day weekend.

I had some resumes and Work Wanted ads come in this past week that looked excellent -- until I saw that they did not contain any contact information. If you sent one in and it isn't posted, it is most likely because it did not include any way for prospective employers to reach you.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Fly Fishing

~~ Traveling Ronny asks: I would like to write about fly fishing spots in the different states. Is there a place for these kind of articles, somewhere to get my stories about fly fishing published?

~~ I answered in part: Besides subscription magazines, you might write for fishing clubs, fishing stores, tackle shops, or a fishing equipment manufacturer. They use articles on their websites, in the magazines and newsletters for their members, and in promotional materials.

Or, look at it geographically.

Writing Resumes

~ Joanne Dufault writes: I am professionally trained in writing resumes. I am a part-time RVer. My husband and I love to travel throughout North America whenever we have the opportunity, and hope to be full-time RVers sometime within the next few years.

Each resume that I write is personalized to suit my client and his work requirements. In a nutshell, it is one-on-one service. He is guaranteed a resume that suits his skills and experiences; I do not produce generic resumes.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Summer Parking in Alaska

~~ Nan asks: My husband and I have been talking about coming to Alaska next year for the summer. Do you know of a place that we could park our rig for the summer for a long stay there?

~~ I answered in part: You might consider the school camp host programs. Stay at one school all summer, or move every so often to another one. The "job" is parking there, and notifying authorities if you see something suspicious.

Also, some of the campgrounds have surprisingly low monthly rents.

Working RVer Tip

If you frequently shop at a certain store, you probably know about their merchandise. That's a plus when applying for a job there. It may be more relevant than a job you had years ago, or even the career from which you just retired.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
