Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Bob and I are blessed to have work that we enjoy. If you are a longtime reader of our newsletter, you probably know that Bob likes tools and fishing equipment. He's spent much of this week going through toolboxes and tackle boxes. He's sorting, cleaning, and preparing things for sale.

We are also fortunate to have work that allows us a flexible schedule. My 85-year old mother recently fell and hurt herself. I've been able to take extra time for her. (She'll be fine.)

What do you like most about your work? Drop me an email and let me know.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Renfro Valley Entertainment Center Workampers Can Get Free Concert Admissions

Renfro Valley Entertainment Center in Kentucky's country music capital is more than great county music. Nestled in a lush green valley, you'll find an RV Park, village stores and restaurant.

You don’t have to be a country music fan to love the music and atmosphere. For music lovers, there's gospel music, country music, and a bluegrass music festival. Add to that the fiddler's festival and Christmas show. Weekly, you'll find the Front Porch Pickin' Show and the original Barn Dance Show. Mixed in are special events, such as the classic car cruise-in, the harvest festival, and a clogging workshop.

The Village has a mix of shops such as the Gristmill country store, bakery, quilt shop, antiques, and gift shops. Renfro Valley Entertainment Center is seeking two outgoing, friendly, workamper couples. These positions run from April through October.

Working RVer Tip

Be flexible as to which department you work in. If you want to work at a particular park or for a particular company, your chances of being hired are greater if you are open to a variety of positions and job duties than if you limit yourself to only one position.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Rating Campgrounds

~~ Bonnie writes: We have heard that camping clubs have inspector / rating people that travel all over Canada and the US to their different club resorts. We would love a job like this, and would appreciate any help that you could give us in who to contact.

~~ I answered in part: Affinity Group Inc. pays people to sell advertising for their campground directories. It is my understanding that these salespeople are also the ones that do the campground ratings.

Typically when doing ad sales, you get paid a commission for the sales you make. You are often responsible for your own travel expenses.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Pay for Ministry Work

~~ Dean asks: My wife and I are going into the full time ministry and we want to work along the way. We want to know if we work, do we get pay? How much would we earn?

~~ I answered in part: I've been to campgrounds where the ministry collected a free will offering. That offering went to the minister and his family to support them and there and travels.

Another option for you to look into is to work as a substitute pastor for established congregations. Something I'm seeing more of these days is that churches welcome pastors who are not part of their registered denomination.

Donations and special collections can amount to very substantial amounts of money.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
