Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor
You know how you sometimes ask a question and I have to preface my answer with a disclaimer? Something such as, "I'm not a lawyer or an accountant and cannot give you legal or expert tax advice." Well, we now have a CPA and attorney writing articles for the Workers On Wheels website!
Please meet and welcome attorney and tax expert Martin M. Shenkman, CPA, MBA, PFS, JD. Mr. Shenkman's current expertise is with legal and accounting matters. But, as the new owner of a 19-foot Airstream travel trailer, he's gaining knowledge about being an RVer. You'll find one of his first contributions further down in this newsletter.
It's been a busy writing and Watkins week for me.
As for Bob, his work this past week shows that he's thinking about fishing. He's been busy tying flies, fixing rods, and cleaning and repairing reels.

RV Business Issues

Running a business from your RV can be a great way to keep bringing home the bacon, stay active, keep busy, ..., all while enjoying the RV lifestyle. But, don't assume that because it's only a "home" business that you run in your jeans and t-shirt that you can ignore tax, legal, and other formalities. If it's a real business, you need to treat it with the appropriate care or you'll face tax, legal, and other woes. When planning for what might even be a small home/RV business, the rules can be quite complicated.
I'll give you an overview of many of the points you need to consider for an RV business. Then, additional articles will explore many of these issues in greater detail and depth. Each article will try to give you some practical bottom line advice you can use. Some topics:

A Romance Writer Touches Hearts: Here's How to Get Started
Does the idea of being a romance writer strike your fancy? I know some of you scoff at the idea. But, romance novels sell. Someone writes all those love stories and gets paid for doing so.
Writing a romance novel and RVing are highly compatible. You can write from wherever your RV travels take you. But, you can also use your travels to research and help set the scene for your books.
