Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

We've received some helpful emails about choosing a used Class B motorhome. We're still looking.

There is an Associated Press article in today's local newspaper about working at state fairs. It said Minnesota hires 3000 workers for its state fair. The article noted that they've had an increase in the number of people applying for the jobs and attributed it to the economy. I can't help but wonder if it has to do with an increase in full-time RVers who've discovered fairs are an excellent place to find work for a few days to a few weeks.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Tell People What You Like … And Get Paid

You stay at a great campground and you naturally tell other RVers about it, right? You find a neat camping gizmo and what do you do? Right, you rave about it while sitting around the campfire. You can build a profitable business the same way – letting people know about your favorites.

Working RVer Tip

Interview Prospective Employers

A job interview is a two-way street. Before the interview, check the employer's website. At the interview, ask questions. You are interviewing the employer as much as the employer is interviewing you.

Your Working While RVing Questions Answered

Trying to Place an Ad

~~ An RVer asks: Why can't I send an ad? I have been trying to place an ad for one hour now. It rejects the word at the bottom of the page.

~~ I answer: The website is functioning correctly. I've received other ads today. I can only guess that the problem is your browser or the settings on your computer.

Ads submitted on the form get priority attention, because they are quick and easy to post. However, if the form doesn't work for you, it is okay to email me your Work Wanted or Help Wanted in a regular email.

Working RVer Tip

Gut Instincts

If a job doesn't feel right, it probably isn't right. Your gut instinct is usually spot-on in knowing what is a good match for you. The location, the salary, and the duties can all be right. The people can be really nice. And, yet, there can be something about the position that your gut just senses is wrong.

Working RVer Tip

Make It Plain and Simple

When sending in an ad or resume, use a basic, common type font, such Times New Roman. Use normal, proper capitalization and punctuation. Skip fancy bullets and designs. Use a single space between words and sentences. Automatic programs don't always know how to translate the cutesy fonts, funky coding, and extra spaces, so they strip them out. It can result in your ad being all run together as one long word.

Words of Wisdom from Workers

Second Opinion

~~ RVer capybill writes: Always get a second opinion. Have a question and you feel you are not getting a straight answer? Well just ask me! I am the man who knows just enough to be dangerous!

~~ I comment: RVer capybill makes a couple of good points. He's right. If you don't feel the answer tells you the complete story, do a bit more research. Ask around and listen to what other RVers tell you. Consider it. Then, reread the last sentence of what he wrote.

RVer capybill also sent us his family picture. You can see it, and post your comments, on the website.

We started this site after corresponding with thousands of RVers, sharing what we’ve learned from our personal experience as full-time RVers, as well as what we've gleaned from employers and managers who hire and work with work campers and other RV workers.

We do hope we've been instrumental in helping you find the right work situation for your RV lifestyle.

We believe there are many advantages to having an RV home based business that we can take on the road with us. We've found a Watkins Summit Group business works for us.

We are also thankful for SBI!, the "do-all-the-techy-stuff-for-you" e-business building platform that made creating this RV resource site possible.
